A Scripture and Prayer Petition for Susan Rebecca Comeau-Nguyen

A Scripture and Prayer Petition for Susan Rebecca Comeau-Nguyen

Dear Family and Friends,

As you know, Susan, who is our daughter, sister, wife, and mother, has been afflicted with an advanced form of cancer. In spite of medical treatment since last November, her disease is progressing. It is time to ask the Body of Christ for intercession and prayer cover as we boldly ask God to heal and restore her. The purpose of this Scripture and Prayer Petition is to provide a daily verse and prayer so that we can agree together and intercede in her behalf. God loves for us to pray his Word back to Him and there is incomprehensible power (dunamis) available through and from God. It is Susan’s firm faith conviction that she will be healed to fulfill her mission here on earth, live her life, and raise her son. Paul and I have entered into a commitment of prayer and fasting for her health. Please pray with us as we ask God for this

miracle with faith and belief. We covet your daily and persistent prayer.

Thank you!!

Sunday

Jeremiah 29:11-14a

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ‘And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. And I will be found by you…

A prayer of Thanksgiving

Father God, thank you for the plans you have for Susan and her family. Thank you that your plans include the blessings of a future and hope. We call out to you as you have taught. We pray with assurance and boldness because you told us you will listen. We can find you because you are always there and available to seekers. You do not hide from us. You are our Father. Oh God, we pray with faith that you will heal Susan fully and completely and that the cancer would go away as suddenly as it came. We know that only you can do this and we will give you all the glory. We pray in the precious name of Jesus.

Monday

Mark 11:22-24

And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted. “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you.”

A Prayer of Belief

Father God, in Mark 9 we read about another family with a sick child who agonized to Jesus “if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." Jesus’ response reminds us that He is Lord of all and Master of everything and that our action plan is faith. 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" How this statement mirrors my own soul. Oh God, I do believe that you can heal Susan fully and completely but help me overcome my unbelief that is based on fear. I do believe.

Tuesday

Luke 11:5-8; 10

“Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come and I have nothing to set before him.’ “Then the one inside answers, “Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, …because of the man’s boldness (persistence NAS) he will get up and give him as much as he needs. "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

A Prayer of Petition

Lord we pray the words you gave to us. We ask that Susan be cured of her sickness. We seek complete restoration of her health. We knock with persistence and boldness and hold her before your throne for the miracle of healing. We will persist in asking, seeking, and knocking until healing is given, restoration is found, and the doorway to health is opened. We thank you in Jesus name.

Wednesday

Isaiah 54:11-15; Isaiah 26:3-4; 2 Timothy 1:7

O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires. I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones. All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace. In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind

A Prayer for Courage and Protection

Father God, we boldly ask you to do what we cannot do for ourselves. We ask you to establish Susan as a city built of the finest materials and impervious to decay and ruin. We ask for rest for her while you are doing your work so that she will not feel tired or defeated or afraid but will lean on you and see you at work. Father, help us to keep our minds fixed on you so that you can hold us in that place of perfect peace. And help us to appropriate Your Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind that we might be your witnesses to the mighty work you are doing. Father we also ask for her son, Tan, that he may grow up secure in her nurture and love, and learning about you from his mother as Timothy did. We thank you for your perfect love.

Thursday

Psalm 139:13-17

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

A Prayer of Praise

Father God, you chose Susan before the foundation of the world and you knit her frame together yourself. She is yours. You are the one who gave her gifts and talents, personality, joy, character, and that special spark that is hers alone. We ask you now to heal that frame and strengthen her. Father, you alone know the number of days that you have designed for each of us. But we ask that it would please you to extend Susan’s days with us. We know, and she knows, that death holds no sting as you have defeated it. We know, and she knows, that you created us for eternity though we exist now in ‘time’ and that this world is not our home. But we ask as Martha and Mary did, and for the same reasons, that her days on earth would be long.

Friday

Matthew 17:20; Luke 17:5-6

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you.

A Prayer for Faith

Father God, you told us to pray with faith and boldness believing that you we can ask you for the impossible and it can be done. In your strength, we say to that cancer “move from Susan to the pit of hell” and “be uprooted from her and planted in the sea.” Jehovah Rapha, you are the God who heals. You are the God of Job and the God of Lazarus. We cry out to you and bring Susan to you for healing. You are the God of the unnamed woman who said “if I just touch his garment I will get well” and she did. You are the same God who said to the little child “Talitha kum” and she lived again. You are the compassionate healer who told that child’s father “do not be afraid, only believe.” Jehovah Rapha, you are the God who heals. As you healed Peter’s mother-in-law, may you heal Susan. As you healed the paralytic, may you also say to her “rise, take up your bed and go.” Jehovah Rapha, you are the God who heals. You are my God and only in you I trust. You alone are worthy of praise and thanks.

Saturday

Matthew 18:18-20

"I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

A Prayer for Unity

Father, we agree together and ask that it would be your will to heal Susan fully and completely. In your power and authority, we bind that cancer and forbid it to spread and grow. In your power and authority, we loose the healing agents in her body to overcome the sickness so that she is restored to wellness.

Psalms 30:2 ”Oh Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.”
